Lessons
I love to work with students of any age! I work holistically with students, focusing on healthy playing technique, enriching repertoire and creating an overall positive experience and love of music. Piano lessons are once a week and I offer Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring packages as well as flexible Summer lessons.
Common Questions
What ages do you teach?
I typically start students when they can read independently or around the age of 6. This allows for students to practice on their own at home and ensure student success in between lessons. As far as too old, I say no such thing!
Do I need to have a piano?
Yes! If you're a beginner a keyboard is allowable but not recommended. Keyboards tend to not be as responsive to touch as pianos which can cause difficulties, especially for beginning students. You should have access to a piano that allows you to practice regularly.
What costs are there?
Besides tuition, I require students to buy curriculum piano books. All the books in the curriculum are relatively inexpensive, so no need to fret! Supplementary material will be recommended but is not required.
Where are lessons?
Lessons will typically be at my home. Depending on location and situations I may make exceptions.
